With an eclectic fusion of Reggae that effortlessly mixes with their Rock roots, Melbourne based King River Rising blends deep groove with alluring harmony.
Often compared to artists such as Sublime, John Mayor and Groundation, King River Rising draw from many of the player’s deep roots in Blues and Rock; while putting their own spin on front man Ward Hancock’s love of Rocksteady and Dub. After gigging their latest release titled “Lucid” relentlessly for the past seven months, 2017 has seen them cruise down to the Mornington Peninsula supporting Queensland’s top Reggae acts, play hot gigs and drinking cold beers at upper-class wineries in country Victoria and take tireless trips to Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
Battle hardened and with a resounding, communal mindset towards the master plan, King River Rising are hitting the East Coast from mid-January to mid-February. With an arsenal of enthralling originals and tastefully enticing covers, King River Rising will be hitting the front room of Solbar on the 9th of February with 3 hours of Roots, Rock, and Reggae fire... So make sure you catch them as they pass through!
