DILLION JAMES • Sunday 31st May

Inspired by travels to the cultural melting pot of New Orleans, and the sparse Western Australian desert, Dillion’s third release ‘Blues Roots Reggae’ has continued in the same trend reaching #5 in October 2014, and currently sitting in the top 20.

Whether holding the spotlight in his own right or jumping on stage with some of the big names in the game, Dillion’s ability to tickle the ivories has long been recognised amongst his peers and within the industry. Bringing his freedom from the hills of the Tablelands to the city, his music has become polished, however not lacking in the rawness you would expect with a blues, roots, reggae musician.

In the past decade he has been in the engine room with the likes of Mojo Webb, Blind Dog Donnie, Die Rude, Blind Lemon, Mick Hadley, and many touring blues artists as a keyboardist or bassist. Dillion has most recently been enjoying the centre of the stage, delivering socially critical messages within his songs and clever improvising on the Hammond Organ.
