BUGS • Friday 1st July

Developing in mid-late 2014; ‘Bugs’ is the fun-loving 90’s Noise/Pop project of Brisbane brat Connor Brooker. Unique songwriting influenced by growing up on the regional coast of Australia – wrapped in short, sharp lo-fi sing-a-long anthems. These energetic bursts of hook-laden guitar pop are inspired by the highs & lows of adolescence and are commentated from a carefree, easy going outlook.

Fronting up for Sunshine Coast surf punks ‘Pro Vita’ since 2011, Brooker has now developed a unique brand of fuzzy, grungey Pop/Punk under his insect alter-ego with a distinct Australian twang. Relatable lyrics paint a picture to go hand in hand with the beachy harmonies and melancholic melodies.

Joined by producer Brock Weston on the drums in early 2015, the year shapes to be a super eventful and successful one for the housemates. With their latest singles “Rock Paper Scissors”, “I Know We’re Done” and “Best Friend” gaining rotation on triple j and generating social interest, anticipation is high for a forthcoming EP in May. Bringing their unique brand of energetic, fun-loving pop to a live audience is the next exciting step. Stay tuned.
